After a period of declining health, Elwood W. Blake, 88, passed away peacefully in his Franklin home on Dec. 13, 2024, with his loving wife of 41 years by his side.

Elwood was born in Franklin, in 1936 to the late Elwood and Annie (Wilson) Blake — their only child. He graduated from Franklin High School and served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic. Elwood was a lifetime member of the Franklin United Methodist Church. For many years he was employed by the Concord Monitor in the pre-press department. Camping and photography were some of his favorite activities.

He is survived by his wife Anita Blake and his cousin Walter Scott. Having a kind and pleasant personality, Elwood will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Per arrangements that he made with the N.H. Cremation Society back in 2002, his ashes have been solemnly scattered at a seaside wildlife sanctuary. A celebration of life service will be held within the next three weeks at the Tilton United Methodist Church. Now merged with the Franklin UM Church, the Tilton building is known now as Living Waters United Ministries.
