ASHLAND — Andrew Bourassa, age 76, passed away at his home on Nov. 23, 2025. A resident of Ashland, Andrew was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Renee Chenez-Bourassa.

Andrew was born on Feb. 18, 1949, in Berlin, the son of Gerard E. Bourassa and Mary A. (née Florenzano) Bourassa.

Andrew graduated from Laconia High School in 1967. Afterward, he enlisted in the Coast Guard. As a coast guardsman, Andrew completed his training to become a radioman, a role that ignited a lifelong passion for communications technology.

After completing his service, Andrew pursued higher education, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1989. He was a gifted writer and voracious reader, believing strongly in the importance of lifelong learning.

His love of radio and adventurous spirit led him to enlist in the Merchant Marines, where he further honed his communication skills as a radio operator. Upon retiring, Andrew used his time and talent to give back to his community, serving as a volunteer EMT and as a member of Lions Club International. In his free time, he loved connecting with people from around the globe as a HAM radio operator.

Andrew is survived by his stepchildren, Sarah (Thaddeus) Whithed of Dalton, and Kristen (Sean) McClintock of Ludlow, Massachusetts; three step-grandchildren, Hezekiah, John and Colin; his brothers, David (Nancy) Bourassa of Laconia, and Stephen Bourassa of the Caribbean; a nephew, Michael Bourassa; and a niece, Angela LeBrun of Manchester.

A chapel service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy in Boscawen at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19.
