GILFORD — William Charles Gorse, 84, of Gilford, passed away on Nov. 29, 2025, at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
William was born on April, 1, 1941, in Salem, Massachusetts, the son of the late Henry Gorse and Linnea (Anderson) Gorse.
William and his wife, Kathleen, left Long Island, New York, in 1976, with their three children to open Taylor Rental Center, in Belmont. William was active in the business for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards, going for walks, and rides in his prized ’65 Corvette. He also loved his dogs. William was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church, of Gilford.
William is survived by sons James Gorse and his wife Susan, of Laconia, and Steven Gorse, of Laconia; daughter Susan Ruggiero and her husband Rich, of Wellesley, Massachusetts; grandchildren Isabel, Gillian, Curt, Lauren, Davis; brother Robert Gorse and his wife Ann, of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Kathleen Anne (Schauder) Gorse.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
