LACONIA  The Lakes Region Builders & Remodelers Association, in partnership with Huot Technical Center, recently hosted a Workforce Development Dinner celebrating the students, educators, and industry partners working together to build the future of the skilled trades.

The evening brought together LRBRA builders and associate trades members, program partners, Huot Tech instructors, students and alumni for networking, conversation, and a shared commitment to workforce development. Guests enjoyed a meal prepared by Huot Tech culinary students, followed by a shop tour and an inside look at the ninth student-built Tiny House project. Attendees also heard directly from peers and program partners about meaningful ways to get involved in the initiatives, which include mentorship, attending events with students, providing internships, and financial support ― all in an effort to strengthen the local trades pipeline.

During the event, the LRBRA proudly announced Callahan A/C & Heating as a sponsor of Tiny House No. 9, the latest student-built project created by Huot Technical Center’s Building Construction and Plumbing & Heating programs. Callahan A/C & Heating’s sponsorship reflects a strong commitment to hands-on education and to supporting students as they gain real-world experience in the trades.

“The success of our workforce development initiatives depends on industry partners who are willing to invest in students and programs like this,” said Lorella Volpe, executive officer of LRBRA. “Callahan A/C & Heating’s support of Tiny House No. 9 helps ensure students have access to quality materials, expert guidance, and meaningful learning opportunities.”

Tiny House No. 9 is currently for sale, with proceeds directly benefiting workforce development initiatives and scholarships for future trades professionals. More than just a home, the tiny house represents an investment in education, community, and the next generation of skilled workers entering the building trades.

Interested buyers and community members are encouraged to learn more about Tiny House No. 9 and how its purchase supports local workforce development.
