LACONIA — It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew J. Tardy Jr., 25, on Jan. 11, 2026.
Matthew was born on Aug. 20, 2000, in Laconia, the son of Tippany LeBlanc and Matt Tardy Sr.
Matthew was a graduate of Laconia High School, class of 2018. He was a dedicated employee of T-Mobile in Gilford. His performance as a mobile expert earned him quick promotions throughout his tenure.
Though his time with us was not long enough, the impact of his life on his family and friends was immeasurable. He was a lively, boisterous child with the most infectious smile from the very beginning.
Matthew’s pride and joy were his siblings and his parents. He had a very special bond with each of them and he never skipped a goodnight text to his mother. Matthew lived life always looking for an adventure. He enjoyed planning trips to explore the world with his brother Evan, though if the two of them were together it didn’t matter to Matthew where they were. He enjoyed spending time chasing his rambunctious cat, Millie, around the house. Matthew was the life of every party. When you were with him, his confidence radiated, and nobody thought he was funnier than he did. He loved making people laugh, playing blackjack, snowboarding, playing basketball and fishing. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family, especially his brother Evan, whom he backed up no matter if he was right or wrong.
Though his life was short, he lived it loudly, he lived it fully and he lived it without regrets. His energy, love and fearless spirit will echo in the hearts of all who loved him forever.
We ask that when you think of Matthew, smile and remember the best times you spent with him and share those memories with everyone so that his memory stays with us forever.
Matthew is survived on his mother’s side by his mother and stepfather, Tippany and Curtis LeBlanc; brothers Evan and Conner LeBlanc; sister Gracie LeBlanc; grandparents Terri and Peter Marceau and Cindy LeBlanc; great-grandparents Donald Cousins, Charlene Steele, Lionel and Nancy LeBlanc; aunts and uncles Tami and Tony Horan, Timothy "TJ" Marchand, Tommi and Robin Marchand, Chris and Laura LeBlanc, Cody and Hailey LeBlanc, and Danielle LeBlanc; cousins Dylan Martel and his wife Erin, Hailey Martel, James Horan, Morgan, Riley and McKenzie Marchand, Eloise Martel, Scarlett, Liam, Evelyn and Ryder LeBlanc. He is survived on his father’s side by dad Matt Tardy Sr.; grandparents Nancy and Billy Cullen, Michael and Pamela Tardy; uncles Mike Tardy, wife Deanna and Mark Tardy; cousins Hadley and Camilla Tardy. Matthew was blessed with a very large extended family, much too long to list.
