To The Daily Sun,

The newspaper ran a story in the Saturday, July 27, edition of the paper. It was on page three and was a small article about an alleged crime committed in Center Harbor on May 17. Speaking as someone close to the case, the timeline of events laid out in that article is very wrong. It's absolutely irritating to read such a false narration in a newspaper I had previously trusted to contain fact-based local news. I am wondering who put forth the "story" and how their word was trusted as gospel; its obvious someone didn't do their homework. And the people who read this article will be influenced by its content. It's a professionally published and widely distributed newspaper, it should be held in the highest esteem by its community. Regardless of the veracity of its articles, it's going to be accepted as truth by its readers. And I think reporters' "stories" should undergo a fact checking process of some kind before it's printed news. Such things could damage a person's life should misinformation should be allowed to make it to the final print.
