GILFORD — Carl John Brewer III, 72, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, after a long illness, with his loving wife, Carla E. Brewer, and family by his side.

Born in Fresno, Calivornia, Carl was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Priscilla Day and Kenneth Day.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Carla E. Brewer; his four children, Elizabeth Watson and her husband Nick of Tempe, Arizona, Ben Brewer of Tempe, Arizona, Carl J. Brewer IV of Gilford, and Derek Brewer of Dover; and his grandsons, Carl J. Brewer V and Maximus Brewer. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark Brewer and his wife Debbie of Gilford, Kevin Brewer and his wife Shelly of Laconia, and Bryan Day and his wife Robyn of Laconia.

Carl was one of the original owners and a highly skilled mason at Mas-Con Corp in Laconia. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his craftsmanship and dedication.

A proud New England sports fan, Carl especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers whenever he had time away from work. He was a fun-loving man whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family and many friends. His warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Carl graduated from Laconia High School, where he proudly played football throughout his high school years.

Carl will be remembered for his hard work, love of family, and the many lasting memories he created with those he loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A graveside burial will be held in September. The date, time and location will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carl’s name can be made to the Belknap County Sportsman’s Club, P.O. Box 214, Laconia, NH 03247, for the children’s fishing derby.
