MEREDITH — Catherine Ann Durden Clark, 77, of Meredith, passed away on June 6, 2026.

She was born in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 7, 1948, to George Douglas Durden Sr. and Lillian Eubanks Durden. As the fourth child welcomed into the family, she soon developed a strong mischievous streak and enjoyed making many messes with her 14-month-older brother George. The two of them were almost like twins.

Even though Cathy was born and raised in Florida, in her adult life she ended up in New Jersey in her early 20s. She graduated from Montclair State University with a liberal arts degree. She married Bobby Clark of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and worked with Bobby in the auto parts business. After retiring in 2004, the two relocated to Meredith, where they purchased a house with a beautiful view of Lake Winnipesaukee. In retirement Cathy was an expert in genealogy, loved working in her garden and reading, and did many DIY projects around her home. She loved animals, especially her long-time cat, Abby, who predeceased her a few months ago. She loved cooking, collecting recipes, reading, and keeping up with family and friends.

Cathy's husband, Robert R. Clark "Bobby" predeceased her. She is survived by her brother, George D. Durden Jr. (Patty) of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters Martha Hickey of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Mary McCowen of Atlanta; nieces Catherine Nelson (Pierce) and Leigh Anne Weitzman (Harmon) of Atlanta; nephew Michael Durden of Jacksonville, Florida; sister-in-law Carolyn Marino (Sebastian) of East Hartford, Connecticut; brother-in-law Jim Clark of Japan; stepdaughter Stephanie Dicocco (Egidio) of Oxford, Connecticut; stepson Rob Clark (Addy) of Georgetown, Texas; Bobby's cousin, Diane Deysenroth (Rick); as well as a number of cousins and many other extended family members.

Services will be held later at a date to be announced.

In memory of Cathy, please donate to your favorite food pantry or animal shelter.

Condolences and cards may be sent to Catherine Clark Family, c/o Mary McCowen, 1882 Clairmont Road #204, Decatur, GA 30033.
