New Hampshire native Adam Sandler, known for his comedic roles and production of “Happy Gilmore,” “Billy Madison” and “Big Daddy,” was in the Lakes Region for the nation’s 250th birthday Saturday, stopping by Sawyer’s Dairy Bar in Gilford to take a selfie with the staff. The restaurant posted the occasion on Facebook, dubbing it "A Fourth of July we will never forget," and writing, “Look who stopped by Sawyer’s for some ice cream last night! Big thank you to Adam Sandler for the visit.” (Courtesy photo/Sawyer’s Dairy Bar)
