LACONIA — Sheriff’s Office personnel, conducting an eviction in the southern end of the city, found stolen bicycles and suspected illegal drugs.

On the morning of March 6, according to a press release from the Belknap County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were serving a “writ of possession” as part of an eviction at a residence on Overland Street, when they encountered three people inside.

Two of those three, Beau Clough, 33, and Christopher Davis, 51, were arrested on active warrants. Clough, who was the tenant at the residence, was accused of violating his parole, and Davis for failing to appear for a court date.

Police also encountered “numerous bicycles and bicycle frames,” as well as substances they believed to be illegal drugs. A search was conducted, after a warrant to do so was obtained, and 40 grams of a powder suspected to be heroin, as well as scales, pipes and packaging supplies were collected. Two “high end mountain bikes,” which had been reported stolen, were also found.

As the investigation continues, further charges, likely relating to drug possession and receiving stolen property, are expected.
