The Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff, tentatively titled The Dutton Ranch, has added Jai Courtney to the cast.

Courtney will play a character called Rob-Will, “an imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman,” according to Variety. Courtney is known for roles in the Suicide Squad movies, Dangerous AnimalsThe Terminal List, and more.

Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser set to reprise their roles as the franchise’s favorite couple. Their “adopted” son, Carter (Finn Little), is also coming back. And as previously announced, Ed Harris and Annette Bening will also star.

“Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch,” the series description reads. “With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

Here’s everything there is to know so far about The Dutton Ranch.

Who is in the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff cast?

Reilly and Hauser will be back as Beth and Rip, with Little back as Carter.

Bening is joining the series, which now has a working title of The Dutton Ranch (a name Hauser previously said was not the show’s official title) and Chad Feehan (Lawmen: Bass Reeves) as showrunner, Deadline reported on August 25. Bening’s character description seems to confirm reports that the spinoff could be set in Texas.

Bening plays Beulah Jackson, “the powerful, cunning and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.” This marks Bening’s second TV series. Her first was 2024’s Apples Never Fall on Peacock.

Harris will play Everett McKinney, a weathered veteran and veterinarian who treats animals with compassion and understanding, and possesses a good sense of humor, Deadline reported on September 3.

No further details about Courtney’s character have been shared.

Bening and Yellowstone star Kevin Costner attended the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE)’s 72nd Annual Golden Reel Awards on February 23, 2025 in Los Angeles, California (see below).

Beth and Rip settled on a new ranch in Montana in the Yellowstone series finale that was just a few hours away from the former Yellowstone Dutton Ranch and about 45 minutes outside of Dillon. It might not be likely that we’ll see a bunch of Yellowstone faces in this new show. But appearances from the original cast are reportedly possible, per Deadline, if the characters survived Yellowstone‘s bloody final season.

Is Taylor Sheridan making the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff?

Taylor Sheridan created the Yellowstone TV universe, but Feehan is reportedly taking the reins of this new spinoff. The new offshoot is a continuation of Yellowstone but is not being billed as Yellowstone Season 6 as previously reported. The Beth and Rip series will share the most DNA with Yellowstone than any other show in the franchise and is set in the present day.

Where can I watch the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff?

The series will reportedly be a Paramount+ exclusive. Yellowstone aired on Paramount Network, with both of its spinoffs — 1883 and 1923 — streaming only on Paramount+. Luke GrimesKayce Dutton is also getting a spinoff, but it’s going to be a procedural airing on CBS in 2026. Sheridan is only an executive producer on that show, titled Y: MarshalsYellowstone is available for streaming on Peacock in its entirety.

Another present-day series set in the Yellowstone universe is coming soon to Paramount. The Madison (previously called 2024) stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew FoxPatrick J. Adams of SuitsFirefly Lane alum Beau GarrettAmiah Miller, Elle Chapman, and Ben Schnetzer.

When does the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff premiere?

A release date will be announced at a later time.

What is the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff about?

Expect this new installment to be a continuation of Yellowstone, but likely in a different setting. Hauser gave an update on the series in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, telling fans to “expect the same that we’ve been doing for the last seven years” since Yellowstone began. Hauser and Reilly are “going and working our ass off trying to create something special,” he said.

Hauser also admitted that it’s odd not to have the original Yellowstone cast with them for this series, revealing in a backdoor way at least one character who won’t be seen in the new show.

“Not having the cast around certainly [is hard],” he said. “Forrie J. Smith [who played Lloyd] has become such a great friend of mine that to think that my right-hand guy wouldn’t be there [is hard]. But Kelly and I, we’re focused on [Rip and Beth’s] relationship and our love together and what we’re going to get [them] into.”
