Diane Louise Woodworth, 77, of Edgewater, Florida, unexpectedly passed away on May 13, 2025, with family by her side. She succumbed to injuries sustained while out for a walk May 10.
Born Feb. 2, 1948, in Laconia, Diane grew up in Laconia and Tilton. She attended St. John’s Catholic School, followed by high school in Laconia and Tilton.
Diane was a dedicated, passionate, loyal and hard-working employee. Most notably, she grew the leasing business Affordable Rental Car at Woodwards Chrysler in Laconia. Following her passion, she worked for Stewart’s Ambulance in Meredith. In Florida, she was a gift shop manager for Loveland Groves, and finished her working career where she spent her summers at Sea Vu Campground in Wells, Maine.
Diane had many passions in life, exercise being a lifelong one. She played softball early on, but running was her true joy, until injuries forced her to switch to cycling. Later she was forced to switch to walking. She also had a passion for food, and was well-known for her chocolate-chip cookies, peanut butter balls, her amazing cooking/baking and was a trained cake baker/decorator.
Above all, her deepest passion was caring for people. She was a volunteer firefighter/EMT-I for Moultonborough for 20 years and later engaged in fundraising for the David F. Talevi Foundation. She cherished sharing her cooking/baking with the world, saying, “The love you put out into the world always comes back to you somehow.”
Diane was a warrior, never giving up on anything. Whether it was fighting and beating cancer (three times), being forced to switch exercise, or charging into a fire, she always pushed forward, never giving up no matter what the challenge. She was compassionate, resilient, kind, loving, and always giving of herself.
She is predeceased by mother Murial Ladieu Weeks, father Fred G. Weeks, and sister Dottie Bozek.
She is survived by husband and high school sweetheart Steve W. Woodworth; sons Roger and Jason Moulton; sisters Dawn Hubley and Debra Polasko; stepmother Judy Weeks; three adored grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Shannon Cemetery, 568 Route 109, Moultonborough. A celebration of life will follow from 2 to 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1018 Whittier Hwy, Moultonborough.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any cancer research charity, a cause near and dear to Diane.
