WOLFEBORO  The First Congregational Church UCC, at 115 S. Main St., is hosting a presentation by the Six Legged Society’s Tonya Albee and Bob Eaton on Wednesday, April 8 from 5 to 6 p.m. downstairs in Fellowship Hall, followed by a simple supper from 6 to 7 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

Across our community, people are noticing fewer bees and butterflies, fewer birds, and lakes under stress. These changes are connected — and gardens are part of the solution. Gardening is powerful medicine, but what we grow and how we grow it matters more than ever.

Albee and Eaton will share: Why your yard and garden are crucial to saving bees, butterflies, fireflies, birds, and local food webs; simple steps that make a big difference for pollinators and the environment; the best pollinator powerhouse plants — what to plant, where to plant, and where to get them; how to reduce ticks and mosquitoes while protecting the earth; and, how healthier gardens support cleaner water, healthier lakes, and stronger communities.
