GILFORD — Country Music Hall of Famer Kenny Chesney's forthcoming album, "Silver Sands Marina," is named after the waterfront destination on Lake Winnipesaukee.

"Silver Sands Marina," Chesney’s 21st album, features an image of the Silver Sands Marina as the album cover, along with the album title, and title track.

“I’m thrilled,” said Gov. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH). “Lake Winnipesaukee is such a special place that holds fond memories for Granite Staters and visitors alike, and it’s great to see it in the spotlight.”

Chesney shared the news of the upcoming release — and dropped the title track — on June 24, along with a music video of Chesney on location at the marina motel.

“When you pull up, it’s even more wonderful than the pictures,” Chesney said in a media statement from Essential Broadcast Media. “You can feel people’s lives have played out here: kids who’ve met, grown up together, occasionally gotten married and brought their kids there, fishing trips and reunions. And, as my song suggests, the occasionally unexpected encounter where you meet someone who sees you for all that you are — even if it’s only for a moment.”

Though Chesney has never played BankNH Pavilion, the community anticipates Chesney performing at the concert venue in the near future.

“I hope Chesney will come play some songs from the album in Gilford very soon,” Ayotte said.

NH Vintage Vinyl, in Laconia, will be selling Chesney's album once it is released. "Silver Sands Marina" will be released on Friday, Sept. 25.
