It’s time to stop the downshifting of state costs onto local property owners. Every time our current representatives vote to reduce state taxes, the pressure on our local property tax bills increases.
We can fix this by electing representatives committed to fair taxation and real property tax relief. They must be willing to fight to reinstate the Dividends and Interest Tax and return the Business Profits and Business Enterprise taxes to former rates.
More importantly, this revenue must be legally dedicated to the Education Trust Fund. It should be used to fulfill the instructions of the New Hampshire Supreme Court to adequately support public schools and lower local property taxes.
Rebalancing how New Hampshire funds education will protect both our local taxpayers and our students. Let's elect leaders who will make state funding work for our town.
