Residents from Catholic Charities NH nursing homes across the state came together to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a picnic at Ellacoya State Park in Gilford. This included residents at St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Laconia. Residents and staff dressed in Colonial attire, sang patriotic songs, signed a six-foot-tall replica of the Declaration of Independence and enjoyed a BBQ along Lake Winnipesaukee. In a fitting moment, a bald eagle circled overhead as the group sang the National Anthem. The day also celebrated the history our residents have lived themselves.
