“For over 50 years, Mary Walker has fed hundreds of bird families in this antique bird feeder and never had a setback — until a certain mama bear could no longer resist and tore it off its hinges to make a point,” wrote Claire Hebert-Dow, who shared this photo of Walker on Thursday, a resident of Province Street in Laconia. “Mary is 92 years old and sharp as a tack. She’s lived in her house on Province Street for over 50 years and always had this bird feeder and has never had a visit from a bear.”
