Daria Port: Priscilla Bean demonstrates a big commitment to Gilford

I have lived near Priscilla Bean for about eight years. When I first moved to the neighborhood, Priscilla was one of the first neighbors to make me feel welcome. She came over to introduce herself and invited me to a family gathering they were having. It was a simple gesture, but one that I have always remembered. Over the years, when I’m out walking our dog, I frequently see Priscilla outside, and she always greets me with a smile and a wave. Often we’ll stop for a few minutes to chat about our dogs or simply catch up on what’s going on in our lives.

The Bean family has deep roots in Gilford, and Priscilla's connection to this community is evident. Over the years, whenever I have gone to vote, I have seen Priscilla at the polls, volunteering and helping to check in voters. She wasn't there as a candidate looking for votes. She was simply a member of the community giving her time and doing her part.

Priscilla is someone I would describe as down-to-Earth, independent and hardworking. She's not someone who seeks out the spotlight, but in the years I have known her, I have seen someone with deep ties to Gilford who genuinely cares about the people who live here.

As voters get to know Priscilla as a candidate, I hope they will also get to know the person and the commitment to our community that I have seen as her neighbor.
