Library Assistant Rachel Duncan led an "Exploding Watermelons" activity at Gilford Public Library on May 28. Three children put hundreds of rubber bands around a watermelon, hoping it would break open from the pressure. When that didn't work, a strong smash on the patio did the trick. The Gilford Public Library hosts several activities weekly for children. For more information, visit gilfordlibrary.org.
