LACONIA — A local man received a prison sentence after pleading guilty to theft and other charges.

Jordan R. Vachon, 27, of Arch Street, in Laconia, pleaded guilty in Belknap Superior Court Monday to charges of receiving stolen property, and two drug possession charges.

Judge James D. O’Neill III sentenced Vachon to two to four years in prison on the stolen property charge. However, Vachon could be released after serving as little as 18 months if he successfully completes an intensive, structured treatment program for inmates with diagnosed addictions, as well as co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.

On each of the drug possession charges, the judge imposed identical sentences of two to four years with all the time suspended on condition of five years good behavior. The suspended sentences will run concurrently and will begin once Vachon has finished serving his time on the stolen property charge.

According to the court file, Vachon had a stolen credit card when Belmont police arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

As part of the negotiated plea the Belknap County Attorney’s Office dropped a resisting arrest charge.
