CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is attempting to locate and arrest fugitive Joshua E. Shaffer. Shaffer, 38, is known to have violent tendencies and a history of domestic violence, according to a release from NHDOC.

Shaffer is described as a white male, 5'4", 165 pounds with blonde or strawberry blonde hair and brown eyes. He also has multiple tattoos on his wrists and forearms. Shaffer's previous whereabouts include Bristol and Watervliet, New York.

Shaffer is on probation after a domestic violence incident during which Shaffer assaulted one victim before discharging a shotgun in front of his residence.

Shaffer was placed on probation on March 26, 2019, following his release from the Grafton County House of Corrections for a felony conviction of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.

He then failed to report to probation. A warrant for his apprehension was issued on June 3, 2019.

Shaffer is considered dangerous. Citizens should not attempt to apprehend him, but instead call the NH Department of Corrections at 603-271-1804, their local police department or 911.
