The White Lotus Season 3 may have wrapped airing earlier this year, but HBO‘s hit is already gearing up for Season 4, as a location seems to have been chosen for the next chapter of Mike White‘s anthology series.
While HBO has yet to announce official details, recent reports hint at where the upcoming season will unfold, and recent commentary from a Season 3 star seems to confirm where the next chapter will take place. Considering these teasers, we can’t help but wonder what Season 4 could look like based on past entries into the TV universe. Below, we’re breaking down everything we know about the fourth season of The White Lotus so far, as well as teasing what could be based on past installments of the show.
What do we know about The White Lotus Season 4?
In a late 2024 report by Deadline, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max content, Casey Bloys revealed that The White Lotus creator Mike White already had plans for a fourth season storyline. Bloys noted that when visiting Season 3’s Thailand-based set, White pitched his concept for the fourth season. HBO had since renewed the series for Season 4. Further details remain under wraps at this time.

Where will The White Lotus Season 4 take place?
According to Deadline, Season 4 of The White Lotus will likely take place in France, with an exact location in the country yet to be determined. While neither HBO nor Mike White has confirmed this, the outlet reported that several resorts in the country have been scouted, ranging from locations in the French Riviera to Paris.
Season 3 star Parker Posey seemingly confirmed this rumor while appearing on E! News‘s Emmys red carpet coverage, where she said, “Mike is in the south of France now, so that’s where Season 4’s gonna be.” She also noted, “I have no idea if I’m in it.” Stay tuned for further details surrounding the locale as they become clearer in the months ahead.
What does The White Lotus Season 4 renewal mean for the future of the show?
In past years, The White Lotus received renewals amid its ongoing seasons. In other words, fans didn’t have to wait until Season 1 concluded to know that it would be back for more. And shortly into Season 2’s run, HBO re-upped the show for Season 3. Meanwhile, HBO set a new precedent by renewing the series for Season 4 before Season 3 even debuted. This certainly bodes well for the show’s future. So stay tuned.
Who could star in The White Lotus Season 4?
The show is known for its star-studded ensembles, but in terms of potential returning cast members, it would be interesting to see if Season 4 would bring in O.G. cast members from Season 1, as Natasha Rothwell reprised her role as Belinda in Season 3, and Season 1 guest Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) featured more prominently in Season 2. Could Season 4 follow suit, or would the next chapter switch things up? Perhaps Greg (Jon Gries) will be a carryover as he’s appeared in all three seasons so far. It’s something to ponder as we await news.
Stay tuned and let us know what you’d like to see if The White Lotus is renewed for Season 4.
