LACONIA — Robert V. Lemay, 87, of Court Street, passed away on Feb. 25, 2026, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Robert was born on Oct. 1, 1938, in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of the late Dr. Albert T. Lemay and Yvonne (Bergeron) Lemay.

He graduated from the University of Vermont and Pennsylvania College of Optometry with a doctor of optometry degree. He was a captain in the U.S. Army working as an optometrist from 1964 to 1967. He continued his career in New Jersey, until retirement and moved to New Hampshire in 2012.

Bob’s favorite pastimes throughout his life were boating and chocolate.

Bob is survived by a nephew and cousins. In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his wife, Eileen (Proctor) Lemay, and sister Paulette Lemay Peters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later time.
