It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Chase, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, who left us too soon on June 17, 2026.
Paul was born on Sept. 18, 1962, in Quincy, Massachusetts. Paul was the son of Doris Chase and the late Donald Chase. His parents moved to Gilford, when Paul was in sixth grade. He graduated from Gilford High School in 1980. Growing up in Gilford, Paul developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, a passion that would remain with him throughout his life.
Kim and Paul built a life in Meredith. Paul dedicated many years to his engineering career at Aavid Engineering, Thermshield, Boyd and more recently was employed at LaValley Building Supply. He enjoyed bird watching, water skiing, downhill skiing and snowshoeing through the woods around their home. If you couldn’t find him close to the house he was out exploring in the woods and fields. He took great pride in his home and property. Driving his tractor and running his chainsaw weren’t work for Paul but fun. He also loved “the cottage” in Melvin Village, where they have many happy memories together. He was a devoted New England sports fan, cheering on the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox.
Paul and Kim enjoyed traveling and exploring many places around the world. His favorite destinations were St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Scotland, France, Italy and French Polynesia. They also shared a love of animals and rescued five dogs in their time together. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of all those who knew him with his humor, and unwavering love for family and friends. He was gruff and crotchety at times, but that was just who he was. Everyone knew it, if they knew Paul.
Paul leaves behind his devoted wife of 38 years, Kim, and his loving children, Samantha and Derek. Paul is also survived by his mother, Doris, and his sister, Joanne Blouin, brother-in-law Michael Blouin, sister Cynthia Castillo and brother-in-law Raul Castillo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his father, Donald.
In honor of Paul’s remarkable life, a celebration of life will be held at the family cottage in Melvin Village in the fall, which was his favorite time of year and beloved place.
Lord Funeral Home, of Wolfeboro, will be assisting the family with arrangements. If you wish to express a condolence or leave a fond memory, visit lordfuneralhome.com.
