NORTH SANDWICH — Lucille “Lucy” Emma Kondrotas, 86, childhood sweetheart and wife of the late Vincent M. Kondrotas Jr., most recently of North Sandwich, passed away March 10, 2026, after a period of failing health. Lucy was a devoted wife, Mom and Grammy. Lucy was born March 7, 1940, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Anita and Evald Erickson.

After graduating in 1958 from Brockton High School, Lucy attended Boston Dispensary at New England Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated in 1960 as a medical technologist. After college, Lucy and Vin relocated from Brockton to Franklin, eventually settling in Lochmere (Tilton), for 46 years. Lucy started her work years as a medical technologist at Franklin Hospital and prior to retirement as an elder caregiver. Lucy also worked as a police officer with Tilton Police Department and was nationally recognized as the State of New Hampshire’s first woman breathalyzer operator. She retired in 2005, as a licensed nursing assistant with Laconia Housing Authority. Lucy was also a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Tilton, and Den Brae Golf Course in Sanbornton, where she and Vin loved to play golf.

Lucy’s weekends and retirement years were spent boating, fishing, gardening, playing golf, and sharing the love of her hobbies with family. Her most cherished memories on the ocean were chartered sailing trips on the schooners Roseway and American Eagle. Lucy could also be found with Vin and her family boating on New England’s waterways.

Lucy will be dearly missed by her daughters, Jennifer Elliott (husband Barry) of North Sandwich, Jessica Barker and Jocelyn Kondrotas, both of Laconia; and her grandson, Forrest Elliott (husband Dana Moulton IV) of York, Maine. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vin (2023); infant daughter, Jacqueline (1971); her parents; and her beloved service dog, Buster Brown (2025).

Lucy’s family would like to express deep gratitude to the staff of Quality Care Home Health & Hospice and Belknap County Nursing Home for their care and support.

At Lucy’s request there will be a private family celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the NH Humane Society in Laconia, from where Buster Brown was adopted, nhhumane.org/donate
