SALISBURY, Md. — Jean Bickford Shaver, age 93, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 29, 2026, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake at Deer’s Head Hospital in Salisbury.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1932, in Waltham, Massachusetts, the youngest daughter of the late Ulmont and Yvonne (Nadeau) Bickford. Jean grew up in Laconia, New Hampshire, and upon graduating Laconia High School met and married Jack Landrine. They traveled throughout the USA while he was with the Army, and together they had two children, Debra Jean Landrine (Strautz) and Bryan John Landrine, eventually settling in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on Locust Street.

Jean worked as an executive secretary for Precise Metals and Plastics in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

Jean’s hobbies included word games. She was a voracious reader, easily reading 6-8 novels a month, and a skilled Skip-Bo player at the weekly card game nights with her girlfriends. She loved babysitting her granddaughter and then her great-grandchildren. Jean’s pride and joy was her family.

Jean is survived by her loving children, Debra and her husband Richard Strautz (Salisbury), and Bryan and his husband Keith Gerchak (Los Angeles); a grandchild, Courtney Jean Hohrein and her husband Evan, and two great-grandchildren, Riffe and Cressie, all of Marion Station; and a sister-in-law, Janet Bickford (Belmont, NH); several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her brothers Richard, Larry and Robert and her sisters Irene and Lorraine, her ex-husband Jack Landrine, and husband William Shaver.

Private services will be held later in New Hampshire. Memorial donations may be made in Jean’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
