LACONIA ― The Laconia Elks Lodge No. 876 awarded the organization’s first Flag of Honor to Irwin Chevrolet on Sunday, March 15.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is an American fraternal and charitable organization, with over 2,000 lodges across the United States. Since 1868, the Elks have given aid to youth programs, awarded scholarships to students, donated to medical hospitals, supported veteran programs, and more.
This award is given to businesses for showing their patriotism by properly displaying the American flag during the day, with proper illumination at night. Irwin Chevrolet has two flags displayed in front of their dealership, which can be seen when traveling along Union Avenue.
