James E. Nichols Memorial Library recently received an AARP Community Challenge to add outdoors community space. The grant funded four picnic tables to the side library lawn facing Main Street and the lake. Two of the tables are ADA-compliant and could accommodate wheelchairs. Each table has a shade umbrella. Additionally, it funded four chairs for Dr. Leonard B. Morrill Park. A crew of nine volunteers came together one morning in August to assemble the furniture in over four hours. From left, front row, Ann Xavier, Sandy Frost, Linda Verge; middle, Bette Miller, Mark Thiboutot, Sharon Thompson, Joe Hulkow, Doug Verge; back row, Deb Thiboutot, George Frost, Harry Viens and Gary Thompson.
