GILFORD – The 105th Annual Gilford Old Home Day was celebrated on Aug. 23. The community came together to enjoy a full lineup of traditions including the parade, live entertainment, pie-eating contest, egg toss, community dance, and a spectacular fireworks show. The parade award winners were as follows: 

Grand Prize, Best Overall – JB Dive Services

Neighborhood Floats – First place to The Wicked Witches of the Lakes Region, second place to The Playroom, and third place to Gilford Public Library

Commercial Floats – First place to Bank of New Hampshire, second place to The Downtown Gym, and third place to Gunstock Mountain Resort

Mini Floats – First place to Katie Dobbins, second place to The U.S. Armored Car, and third place to Hannaford Supermarket

Neighborhood Marchers – First place to The Masons, Shriners, and Affiliated Groups, second place to New England Wolves Hockey, and third place to Franklin Savings Bank

Antique Vehicles – First place to Allan Graton (1966 Mustang), second place to Dennis Franciosi (1934 Griffin), and third place to David Graham (1967 VW Short Bus)

Motorized Boats – First place The Masons, Shriners, and Affiliated Groups

Other Vehicles – First place to The Gilford Department of Public Works, second place to Rebecca’s Aesthetic Studio, and third place to The Bronco OFF-Roadeo
