Meredith Library

Members of the Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough Academy Football team recently saved the day for the Friends of Meredith Library. From left, Jacob Hayward, John Joyce, Dominic Conforti and Garrett Hayward assisted Jean Dougan, book sale coordinator, moving 180 large boxes of books from the basement up to the Function Room in the library. The Friends of Meredith Library are prepping for its final book sale of the year on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Books are donated by community members and volunteers spend hours sorting, cleaning and boxing books by category. There is no admission, but donations are appreciated and used to support the programs sponsored by the Friends such as reading programs for children and adults, passes to the Squam Lakes Nature Science Center, Castle in the Clouds and various museums, after school programs, Binge Bundles and guest speakers from the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
