Celebrate the 'Animal Birthday Bash' at Squam Lakes

HOLDERNESS — Squam Lakes Natural Science Center excited to invite you to celebrate the annual Animal Birthday Bash on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Included with trail admission, this favorite summer event offers a fun-filled day of animal encounters, hands-on activities, and creative enrichment for the Science Center's resident animals.

Visitors will learn how the animal care team keeps animals healthy and engaged through enrichment activities designed to encourage natural behaviors and stimulate their minds and senses. Throughout the day, animals will receive birthday treats and presents during scheduled presentations, giving guests the chance to watch them explore their enrichment. Staff and docents will be available to share each animal's favorite foods, enrichment items, and unique behaviors throughout the Live Animal Exhibit Trail. Families can enjoy interactive activities throughout the day including Discovery Tables and more at the Webster Building.

Guests can also visit information tables hosted by NHScot and Love Squam. NHScot will be handing out Scottish shortbread while sharing information about its mission and the upcoming New Hampshire Highland Games. Visit Love Squam to learn more about their efforts Love Squam supports the organizations protecting Squam Lake through conservation, preservation, and education. When it's time for a break, enjoy lunch or a snack from Straws+ Food Truck, which will be on site throughout the event.

The Live Animal Exhibit Trail is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last trail admission at 3:30 p.m.
