A Buck A Putt

ALTON — The Alton Centennial Rotary Club will soon be at golf courses, fairs, indoor and outdoor events to raise money for the club’s charitable giving — a new and fun-filled putting contest.

For each dollar contribution, a contestant tries their luck to score a ‘hole in one’ on a sixteen-foot putting green. For every score the contestant receives a raffle ticket onto which they add their name and contact information. Their ticket is then deposited into a jar for it to be drawn later in the day. A single winner will win 50% of all the money collected. Contestants may enter as often as they choose to, use their own putter and balls, too.

The remaining 50% is donated by the Alton Rotary Club to a variety of causes and projects the club supports in Alton, New Durham, and Barnstead.
