2-day stained glass class in Meredith with Sue Ries

MEREDITH — Join the Meredith Fine Craft Gallery on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a two-day Stained Glass Candle Holder class with artist Sue Ries.

In this relaxing and fun two-day class, students will cut, foil, and solder a beautiful stained glass candle holder. On Saturday, choose one of the four supplied patterns along with all the materials needed, including a battery-operated candle, and prepare pieces for assembly. The next day, attendees will solder their pieces and complete the steps to finish their candle holder. Add in the supplied candle and light it up. Basic stained glass construction will be taught and guests will go home with a finished piece that is ready to display.

Students will need to bring: cork board at least 18x24 inches, masking tape, apron, scissors, thick latex gloves (such as dishwashing gloves, not disposable gloves), safety glasses (prescription eyewear is allowed), very casual clothes and covered shoes (no sandals), and a gallon-size Ziplock bag (additional Ziploc bags may also come in handy for storing solder or foil).
