MANCHESTER — Comcast recently announced the start of construction to connect more than 4,300 new homes and businesses in Franklin to reliable, high-speed, symmetrical Internet by expanding its network. The network expansion brings internet, mobile, entertainment, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to residents and businesses for the first time.

The company also connected more than half of the 2,100 homes and businesses in its Northfield project to Xfinity and Comcast Business services, with the rest coming online by this summer. The Franklin project is expected to be completed in 2026.

Northfield and Franklin residents can visit the Gilford Xfinity Store located at 1458 Lake Shore Road in Gilford or Xfinity.com/mytown for additional details on construction timing and upcoming service availability.

“Our members have realized the benefits of faster Internet and cost savings from Comcast Business as a result of Comcast’s continued investment in expanding its network across the Lakes Region from Franklin to Laconia,” said President of the Lakes Region Chamber Karmen Gifford.

“By expanding our gigabit-speed network in the Lakes Region, Comcast provides a new option for even more New Hampshire residents and businesses looking for fast, reliable Internet and mobile services,” said Senior Vice President of Comcast’s New England Region Carolyne Hannan. “We are proud to invest in New Hampshire with our latest fiber expansions in Franklin and Northfield.”

Comcast’s most recent expansion to Franklin and Northfield is part of the company’s latest investment in New Hampshire, which also includes expansions to Belmont, Gilford, Laconia, and Tilton.
