Stephen Hodecker: Level of corruption, incompetence exhibited by federal government nothing short of criminal

Our government of laws and not men has failed us. The framers of the Constitution never envisioned a bureaucracy the likes of which we are confronted with today. They never envisioned the degree of moral bankruptcy that infects, festers and permeates the fetid halls of Congress and the federal government. They never envisioned that our leaders would so utterly abandon any remnant of a moral compass, abrogating the Constitution and individual liberties at every turn. They never envisioned the profligate spending, debt and willingness to debase our currency. Our leaders stand ready and willing to spend and borrow the country into oblivion.

They never envisioned the Modern Surveillance State — a behemoth Technocracy. Better described as Techno-Fascism, it has set itself up as the arbiter of truth and "dis-information" controlling the messaging of what amounts to a state-run media. Save Elon Musk’s X, Rumble and a few mom & pop outlets, the Forth Estate has become the propaganda arm of the federal government.

Further, we have a Justice Department weaponized against its political opponents, a wide open southern boarder and a government that is aiding and abetting multiple wars and conflicts around the globe — almost praying for World War III. The level of corruption, incompetence, malice and cavalier disinterest in the citizens and wellbeing of this country exhibited by our federal government is nothing short of criminal.

What the framers did envision is a government that would one day no longer serve the principles of freedom, justice and the people it governs — that day has arrived.

The nation has become Plato’s proverbial Ship of Fools.

If readers value any remaining scraps of individual liberty and freedom that we continue to enjoy in this country, particularly as embodied in the 1st and 2nd amendments, the choice before us in November is clear.
