Richard Littlefield: Supporting candidates who support schools, lower taxes

One issue that totally dominates a lot of conversations in my neighborhood is education and our public schools.

Nobody seems to be able to get on the same page when it comes to funding or inappropriate books accessible to children or what is and isn't OK to teach in the classroom.

I still hold positions on this issue that haven't and won't change. It also makes me ill watching watching any portion of a graduating class go out into the world without attaining real world knowledge and skills.

Thats why I'm voting for candidates that want to make changes and hopefully have a positive affect on the system and lower property taxes.

The fight for reform has to start somewhere.

Thats why I am happy to wholeheartedly endorse Marcia Hayward, Lois Kessin and Denise Riley for state representative out of my beloved hometown.

I would also like to publicly endorse Kurt Webber for New Hampshire State Senate.

This back and forth of arguments and money spent in the courtroom isn't helping public education in Laconia.

I'm tired of not voting for my daughter's generation.

I would encourage all Laconians to attend forums and reach out to all state-level candidates and ask the tough questions.

I don't agree with a lot of the proposals that have come out from Democrats over these recent years in regards to education. I am hopeful this slate of candidates will work tirelessly to change futures for our students and prioritize education success.

Our teachers and students deserve that voice.
