Richard Gunnar Juve: School auditorium use benefits entire community

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the musical "Million Dollar Quartet" at the Inter-Lakes High School auditorium. This fantastic production, inspired by the legendary rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, was a vibrant music history lesson that resonated deeply with an audience who grew up with these stars.

The auditorium was packed with people of my generation, all of whom were thrilled by the energy and talent on display. Under the expert direction and choreography of Brian Feehan, the cast delivered an electrifying performance that had us all singing along to classics like "Blue Suede Shoes," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Great Balls of Fire," and "Hound Dog." The story, based on the true-life event when these four greats came together for a legendary jam session, was brought to life with enthusiasm and authenticity.

The audience left the performance with smiles on their faces, reliving the golden days of rock and roll. It was a special evening that not only entertained but also educated us about the origins of some of the most iconic music of our time.

I would like to commend the Inter-Lakes School Board for making the auditorium available for such events that greatly benefit our community. A special thank you is due to Nancy Barry, whose dedication and effort in bringing these productions to life enrich our cultural experience. It is vital that we continue to support these performances at the high school auditorium, ensuring that future generations can also enjoy and learn from the vibrant history of music.
