To The Daily Sun,

When your readers cast their ballots Nov. 8, we hope they’ll vote for Jerry Knirk, who has proven his value many times over in the six years he’s been in the New Hampshire House.

Knirk, a retired spine surgeon, is a pragmatic problem solver, a hard worker, a community-minded communicator, and a voice of reason and authority when it comes to the broad range of issues under the rubric of health and human services. He’s also a champion of concrete steps to foster clean energy and address climate change. And he believes New Hampshire should promote family-friendly policies to attract younger workers the Granite State needs as the foundation for a viable economy.

Many voters in the newly redrawn District 8 may not be familiar with Knirk’s record. Much of his work over the past two years has focused on protecting public health — a dangerously contentious arena lately — and on supporting women’s reproductive choices. We need his knowledge and commitment in these areas in the Legislature’s next term.
