As an independent, disinclined toward any major or minor party, I hope Mr. Norm Silber will be more gracious to those wishing to hear candidates invited to speak to the Belknap County Republican Committee.
Prior to Silber's ascension as chair of the county committee, all were welcome. Silber has been aggressively hostile to those who are not registered Republicans. After considerable struggles, he grudgingly allowed unregistered Republicans to hear and support his guest speaker, but we had to sign one or more documents. This was not the protocol before Silber ascended to the county chairmanship. Need I say such an attitude has a chilling effect on the process?
