Jon Paul: Turn off the news, return to being neighbors and not adversaries

My Democrat colleagues should keep their chin up. This battle may have been lost, but the fight will go on. Moving forward, deep soul searching needs to occur within the DNC because of this complete drubbing. Congratulations to my Republican colleagues on their victory. They should hold their politicians accountable to their expectations. But, please put country before party.

My suggestion to everyone is to turn the news off. Pick up a hobby, read, play a sport, spend time with family, phone a friend, hike in the woods. Do anything but watch the news. The U.S. media deserves a huge responsibility for causing, and stirring up, such bitter division in our country. It doesn’t matter what political party a voter is in, the news have one primary goal — keep people afraid. Frightened people buy more news. It's all a vicious cycle. Let’s return to being neighbors and not adversaries. I pray that we can find ways to come together for the betterment of our country. May God bless the USA.
