John Lewis: MAGA has fooled us again, adding to nation's debt and misery

Two sayings on being fooled. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Then, "You can fool some people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Donald Trump first took office on Jan. 20, 2017, with the national debt at $21.6 trillion, and on the day he left office four years later, it stood at $27.8 trillion. He's now adding $4 trillion. Trump told over 36,000 lies, lined his pocket, and caused hundreds of thousands of Americans to die due to nonsense about shining a light into the body or drinking bleach to cure COVID.

Trump tried to overturn the result of the 2020 election, and Capitol Police were mercilessly beaten, some lost their lives, and the Capitol was desecrated with the smear of human feces.

The country as a whole was fooled in the 2016 election, was not fooled in 2020, then was fooled again in 2024. Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, despite getting 3 million more votes, Joe Biden had 81 million votes to Trump's 74 million in 2020, then Trump got 77 million to Kamala Harris' 75 million in 2024. The Democrats' drop from 81 to 75 million was largely due to complacency, or disillusionment.

So the Grim Reaper with the orange hair, and crispy wrinkled face under the hood, holding a golf club instead of a scythe who visited tens of thousands of COVID victims in 2020, is back.

Jesus said, "Suffer little children to come unto me." The Reaper says, "Little children, I will take away your health care, including vaccinations, and you will suffer, along with many millions of your parents."

MAGA, please, no more being fooled.
