To The Daily Sun,
This past Fourth of July, Meredith celebrated the 250th anniversary of America with an amazing parade representing businesses, churches, civic and community organizations, elected officials, town departments, law enforcement, the school, fiddlers, brass and dixie land bands, announcer Pat Kelly, and our Grand Marshall Rusty McLear. It was a spectacular event, with young and old crowding our Main Street, and enjoying the festivities of the day. While there was a solid core of community volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this a great event, it would not have been possible without all those parade participants who took the time and made the effort to entertain our community and help celebrate the 250th birthday of our country. Many thanks to all who made this possible.
