Harry Doherty: Laconia needs a mayor with vision and commitment to city

Laconia needs leadership that’s willing to challenge the status quo, ask hard questions, and bring fresh energy to the issues that have lingered for far too long.

That’s why I’m supporting Mike Bordes for mayor.

This is not a question of party identification or political legacy. I want outcomes. Laconia requires real leadership that will deal with the homelessness issue proactively, stand behind our first responders with more than just words, and create a climate in which local business can be successful without being overwhelmed by red tape. We require a mayor with a vision of what this city can be and who is not afraid to step forward to bring it about.

Mike Bordes provides a new vision and a proven record of openness, responsiveness, and community involvement. He is not an old-time politician, and that's exactly why he is the best candidate.

If we want a new outcome for Laconia, we need to choose something new. I am voting for Mike Bordes and I encourage others who have a commitment to progress to do the same.
