To The Daily Sun,

New Hampshire Electric Co-op members need to wake up; their family finances are at risk. A well-financed, out-of-state special interest group wants to raise rates by forcing NHEC to buy expensive wind and solar power. We know it will cost more because the renewable power rates of both the Community Power Coalition of NH and NHEC are higher than the standard power rates.

The climate activist group from Boulder, Colorado, wants members to vote for a Cambridge, Massachusetts, resident and voter, a British lawyer, and a long-time Eversource employee to oust the current board members who have kept our electric service reliable and affordable (a 16% fixed monthly rate reduction and rate increases less than inflation). The Colorado group has sent out expensive full-color campaign materials, paid for slick websites, sent text messages to select members, and even paid for an event with free drinks. With traditional low turnout in Co-op elections, these tactics can work.

Don’t let them buy our Co-op. Protect finances and reliable service by voting for incumbent directors Bill Darcy and Bob MacLeod.
