Charles Bozzello: Bozzello is running for reelection to Ashland Selectboard

Ashland has been my home for nearly eight years. Since moving here, I have been an active participant in our local political dialogue. In 2023, I was elected to the selectboard, and I currently serve as the chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and as a member of both the Economic Development and Fourth of July committees. These roles have provided me with significant insight into our town’s unique challenges and opportunities.

While Ashland is a wonderful place to live, we face serious economic challenges. Our poverty rate exceeds 25%, which is significantly higher than the averages for Grafton County and New Hampshire. Furthermore, our infrastructure requires urgent, costly upgrades while our property tax rates remain among the highest in the region.

To move forward, we must look beyond taxation and establish new revenue sources through a robust economic strategy. Our current Master Plan hasn't been updated since 2012; we need a modern, actionable vision for our future.

During my time on the selectboard, I worked to re-establish the Economic Development Committee and helped upgrade the town manager position to better suit our SB 2 management model. These foundational improvements provide a strong basis for future progress.

My professional background includes a master's of business administration from Hofstra University, a bachelor of science from Clarkson University, and a career in industrial engineering and computer science. Having served as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies, I possess the experience necessary to lead these initiatives.

With taxpayers' support, I am committed to implementing plans that promote long-term prosperity for Ashland.
