To The Daily Sun,

All it takes is a check of the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s Campaign Finance database (https://cfs.sos.nh.gov/) to see that Alton and Barnstead candidate Rep. Paul Terry isn’t being forthright about his support for NH to secede from the United States.

Trying to dig himself out from his offensive position, he posted on his Facebook page, "For the record and in fact, I am not in favor, nor have I ever been in favor of New Hampshire or any other state(s) seceding from the United States" (cue the “beep-beep-beep” sound). But it was also just about that time (Aug. 23) that he cashed a campaign donation check from the NH Independence PAC (https://nhipac.org/).

Then in September, a group called NHExit made a call to support Terry by bringing in out-of-town supporters, titled “NHExit friend Rep. Paul Terry could use help in Alton Sept. 13, posts this response to attack” after a group called him out for his position. (https://nhexit.us/)

He can fool some of the voters some of the time, but this voter’s not falling for his song and dance. We need to elect people who protect and defend our country, not figure out ways to leave it — and not get caught doing it.
