GILFORD — Cold overnight temps followed Gunstock Mountain Resort's Thursday announcement that its projected Friday opening would be postponed. Thanks to that frost, eager skiers won't have to wait long. The mountain said Friday that it would open for the season Saturday.
"I'm so excited I can't stand it," General Manager Tom Day said. "We were able to make snow last night, to patch up the areas we needed to." With cold forecasted again Friday night, Day was confident the slope would be set.Â
"Thanks for your patience everyone," read an announcement on Gunstock's social media. "And don't forget to #thankasnowmaker. See you tomorrow!"
