Belknap County Superior Court Judge James D. O’Neill III found a Deerfield woman guilty, but issued a suspended sentence, on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of a controlled drug in Tilton.
Kehley M. Smith, 29, of 73 Old Center Road, Deerfield, was arrested on Oct. 14, 2018, when found in possession of a gold Volvo S80 that did not belong to her. The vehicle was missing a front registration plate and had altered paperwork, according to the police affidavit.
Police also allegedly found methamphetamine and a narcotic identified as heroin, fentanyl, or a combination thereof.
Judge O’Neill, in suspending the 2.5- to 5-year prison sentence on receiving stolen property, ordered Smith to participate in counseling, to have no contact with “T.P.”, and to remain on good behavior.
As part of Smith’s plea agreement, the state dropped the drug charges.
