FRANKLIN — Karl Earl Grant, 89, of Franklin, formerly of Concord, passed away on Sept. 21, 2026, in Franklin.
Born to the late Allen and Dorothy (Morrill) Cilley on Nov. 1, 1936, Karl began his life as a resident of Franklin, where he graduated from Franklin High School in 1954. Karl went on to have a great career as a statistician for Concord Group Insurance and resided in Concord for over 40 years until he retired in 2010. Karl’s friends and family knew him to be a very detail-oriented fellow who was fascinated with history. Karl was also a member of the First Congregational Church in Concord for 25 years. Faith and family were of utmost importance to him.
In addition to his parents, Karl is predeceased by his sisters, Charlotte Sutton, Beverly Chapman, Evelyn Hurd, Emma Sharon, Kathy Lavigne, and his brother, Wayne Cilley.
Those left behind to cherish Karl’s memory include his brother, Glenn Cilley of Hill; his sisters, Patricia Chase of Boscawen, and Virginia “Ginny” Fecteau of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Karl at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Webster Place Cemetery in Franklin, with Rev. Jon Hopkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, Karl requested that donations be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church, 211 N. Main St., Concord, NH 03301.
