FRANKLIN — John L. Gut, 54, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 23, 2024, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Oct. 13, 1969, in Franklin, where he lived in his childhood home with his wife Cheryl.
John graduated from Franklin High School in 1988. He was employed by A&P for six years then Hannaford Supermarket for the past 30 years. John took great pride in making sure shelves were stocked with food for his community. He enjoyed watching Boston sports (Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins), professional wrestling, horror movies, and the Three Stooges. Some of his favorite times was spent eating out with his family, attending concerts and vacationing at Old Orchard Beach with his wife Cheryl.
He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Jeannette Gut, his brother Robert Gut and his mother-in-law Linda Beaupre.
John is survived by the love of his life and wife of 29 years Cheryl Gut, and his brother Stephen Gut and wife Donna. He has five nephews, Cody Gut and his wife Anna, Brady Gut, Casey Gut and fiancé Brenna, Zackary Beaupre, and Jakob Beaupre and partner Alyssa. Also his father-in-law Glenn Beaupre and wife Mary, brother-in-law Stephen Beaupre and wife Rebecca.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Payson Center for Cancer Care for all their support and kindness during his journey. Also, the Concord Hospital-Franklin staff for all their compassionate care and understanding in his final hours.
There will be no formal services at this time, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
